About the project
Initial situation
The HanfStrip project involves procuring, adapting and testing a stripping method (stripping cutter/stripper cutter) for efficient hemp harvesting on small plots under practical conditions. Comparative measurements of quality parameters (e.g. dry matter, fibre/seed purity), performance indicators (area yield, working time) and the documentation of best practice processes for breeding and demonstration are planned.
Objective:
Reduction of harvest losses and contamination, improvement of data and sample quality for breeding decisions, and reduction of the amount of work required in field trials.
Purpose:
Strengthening hemp breeding and regional value creation through reliable, reproducible small plot results as a basis for selection and variety development in BW.
